Q: Is Liase really free?

Yes. The free plan is and will remain free. And we don't make money from any data that we sell to third parties either. The infrastructure costs are covered by paying users.

Q: What happens to my data?

We take an EU-first approach wherever possible: The device data collected, for example, is stored on servers in Germany. Payment services and email delivery are handled by partners within the EU. You can find out more about this in our Privacy Policy.

Q: Which smartphones are supported?

The interface has been designed to run even on older devices. The only requirement is an internet connection, either via Wi-Fi and/or a SIM card.

Q: Do I need any technical knowledge?

No. An assistant will guide you through setting up the old smartphone. Daily use is limited to pressing a single button.

Q: What happens if there are technical problems?

If the device goes offline or becomes unreachable, this will be visible in the interface. You can also set up notification rules for such cases, so that friends or family members are informed directly.

Our mission

In Germany alone, approximately 167 million old smartphones lie unused in drawers [1]. They contain valuable raw materials, some of which are extracted through processes that cause significant harm to people and the environment.

Making better use of these resources is important. But even when people are aware of the problem, that doesn't necessarily mean they'll pass on, sell, or properly recycle their old smartphones. After all, all of these options take time and effort.
